66 SET OF 6 HAND STENCILED SALVADOR DALI TILES: Produced by the Spanish firm of Mikana in 1964, after original designs made by the surrealist artist Salvador Dali in 1953-54 in Valencia. The tiles represent three pairs of basic themes, life & death, war & peace & love & music. Dali has managed to give unique visual expressions to these basic themes common to all men. Death, for example has been symbolized by the image of a dead starfish on the beach, while war has been represented as four aggressive arrows closing in on the centre, seen against harsh & angular blue & white shapes.
