24A QUEEN ANNE SIDE CHAIR Ca. 1750: Featuring shaped back splat, turned "H" stretchers and pad feet. Possibly maple. 41 1/4"h x 21"w x 19"d. (overall). Bears resemblance to Nutting Volume 2, #2125 with exception of subject having a drop seat and different wood selection. Note: Repair to front corbel, partial loss to side corbel and front foot.
24B 18TH CENTURY FLEMISH STYLE SIDECHAIR: Featuring a reticulated backsplat, shell carved crestrail and mold carved stretcher and frame. Reportedly sat in by John Adams.
25 FEDERAL DROP LEAF TABLE, ca. 1825, in the Philadelphia style. Mahogany with brass reticulated florette mounts, brass paw feet and a brass lion drawer pull. Two turned stretchers join carved and reeded arching legs. Particularly deep hand dovetailed silverware drawer with raised edge molding flanked by rectangular frieze carvings with faux drawer front on opposite side. Leaves have scalloped corners and oak or chestnut secondary wood pull out supports. "Three board" table. A more crisply detailed example than most we have encountered. 27 1/2" h. x 22 1/2" w. Graceful, arching high sides and fine detail suggest an early execution. 30 1/2" h. x 96" w. x 39 3/8" d. Label affixed: "Mercier freres / Mobiliers / Decorations / Ancien et Modernes / Paris". Provenance: Acquired in France by the consignor (estate) shortly after WWII. An interior designer's dream project!
29B FRENCH PROVINCIAL WALNUT UPHOLSTERED ARM CHAIR: Baroque / Rococo transitional style, possibly of French second Empire or earlier execution. Heavily carved crest and cabriole legs. Fitted with 19th C. casters. 41 1/2" h. x 28" w. x 29 1/4" d.(overall). Strong form. Same estate as Lot 29A.

31A FORMAL HEPPLEWHITE DEMI-LUNE GAME TABLE Ca. 1790: Swing leg, two board mahogany top with pronounced grain, string and barber pole inlays. Mahogany veneer, string and barber pole inlaid frieze, tapered legs with double arched string and husk motif inlays. Pine secondary wood. 29"h x 35 1/2"w x 17 1/2"d (closed). Bears resemblance to Nutting Volume 1, #1034. Note: Repaired front leg, moderate inlay loss and various older amateur conservation.

Young", a partial contemporary exhibition label identifying the artist and pencil inscriptions including "501" and "H.Y.#41. London" together with ink numbers "8132" and "X25". Lined on mid 19th C. stretchers. Period carved oak frame with contemporary gilding and frame plaque. Good imposto and lighting combined with confident handling of figures.
