Bears resemblance to Nutting Volume 2, #2125 with exception of subject having a drop seat and different wood selection. Note: Repair to front corbel, partial loss to side corbel and front foot. 3,500
24B 18TH CENTURY FLEMISH STYLE SIDECHAIR: Featuring a reticulated backsplat, shell carved crestrail and mold carved stretcher and frame. Reportedly sat in by John Adams. 150
25 FEDERAL DROP LEAF TABLE, ca. 1825, in the Philadelphia style. Mahogany with brass reticulated florette mounts, brass paw feet and a brass lion drawer pull. Two turned stretchers join carved and reeded arching legs. Particularly deep hand dovetailed silverware drawer with raised edge molding flanked by rectangular frieze carvings and faux drawer front on opposite side. Leaves have scalloped corners and oak or chestnut secondary wood pull out supports. "Three board" table. A more crisply detailed example than most we have encountered. 27 1/2" h. x 22 1/2" w.
