10A CHINESE EXPORT SILVER ROLLING CONDIMENT SET IN THE FORM OF A SEDAN CHAIR: Two Chinese men on wheels, one pushing, one pulling, the sedan filled with containers for mustard, salt, pepper and a lift up storage trunk. Men are 3 1/2"h, 9 1/2"l. overall. Chinese hallmark and maker SC.

12 FORTESS, Karl, (American, 1907-1995): Modernist beach scene with markers and buoys, O/C, 40" x 20", SLL. Fortess studied at the AIC, ASL, Woodstock School. Exhibited at Salons of America, Woodstock AA, WMAA, PAFA, Corcoran, Carnegie, and the NAD. He was awarded the Guggenheim Fellowship in 1946, the Childe Hassam Fund purchase award in 1952, and many other juried prizes during his extensive career. In addition to working as a WPA artist, Fortess taught at the ASL, Brooklyn Museum Art School, LSU, and BU, to name a few.

17 ANTIQUE FOLDING COIN SCALE: Manufactured by A. Wilkinson, Ormskirk, Lancashire circa 1840, in very good shape with the original instruction labels, hard wood case with working clasp. The brass coin scale springs into weighing position when the lid is opened. The scale uses no weights because the beam has on one side a folding weight for a 1/2 Guinea and a full Guinea. A slider shows on a graduation ( 0 to 12 ) how much Penny is the coin.

30 LEIGH, Conrad, (British, 1883-): "View of Blackpool Tower, from the Promenade", O/CB, 12 5/8" x 14 3/4", SLR. Leigh was an accomplished illustrator in the U.K., with many of his works reproduced to print. CONDITION: Needs cleaning, upper right portion shows color after partial cleaning.
30A   VICTORIAN REVIVAL CHERRY SLANT FRONT DESK: 2 open shelves over the desk, carved fruit and nut pulls, 54"h.
31   3 PC SET OF GRIFFIN MOTIF EGYPTIAN REVIVAL TABLES: Carved and gilded griffin supports, walnut base and rosewood tops, sofa table and pair of end tables. Hint of the Orient to the sofa table top, end tables with carved and gilded floral boarders. Est. $1200/1800**set.
31A   PERSIAN SADDLE BAG
32 HART, William, (American, 1823-1894): "By the Old Wall", 11 1/2" x 17 1/2", SLL, bears a label from the Mississippi Art Museum, exhibited in 1978-1979, encased in Hudson River Reproduction gilt frame. William Hart is a formidable Hudson River School artist who painted portraits, landscapes, allegorical and genre paintings. CONDITION: This piece has an older reline, and has been cleaned. There is no evidence of any inpaint or patches. Throughout the painting there are minute, pinpoint specks of paint loss, but the piece is very secure, and shows no signs of instability.
32A   BAKER COUNTRY FRENCH DINING TABLE WITH 3 LEAVES: Parquetry inlay top, carved apron and cabriole legs, scrolled feet. With the leaves this table opens to almost 10 feet.

36A CRIST, Richard, (American, 1909-1985): "West Indies", depicts a group of island natives in canoes and swimming, W/C and Gouache, 10 1/4" x 14 1/4" sight size, signed lower left, titled and dated 36. Crist was a widely exhibited artists, notably at the Pittsburgh Art Association, PAFA, Butler Art Institute, CGA and many more. In the 1930's Crist joined the WPA project and traveled to Mexico.
