FINE FEDERAL STYLE 2 DRAWER MAHOGANY STAND: A high style early to mid 20th Century centennial piece. Octagonal top with intricate parquetry detail along upper and lower edges of the body. Highly grained panels to each of the 2 drawers and sides. Rounded reeded legs tapering to arrow feet, carvings at the tops. 28''h. x 21 1/2'' x 15 1/4''. Hand made by master wood carver Alfred Roebelt. Roebelt's father was a master carver in Thuringa, (now a part of East Germany), then a world renown center for fine furniture crafting. Roebelt passed his masterpiece exam at the age of 17. Coming to America in 1930 he worked for H. Sack & Company in Massachusetts until retirement in 1971. Provenance: Roebelt Estate
