475 Click for larger picture OFFICER'S DRESS SWORD BY BENT & BUSH OF BOSTON: It has an etched, quadrangular blade, 29 13/16''l., overall approx. 36 1/2''. Rayskin grip with double twist wire wrap. One half of the embossed guard basket folds flat, to be flat against the body, under which is dedicated Colonel Charles Dunlap Presented by Nashua Friends 1893. With matching scabbard of iron, japanned black with brass throat and drag. Please note flaking to scabbard finish. 375
476 Click for larger picture EMERSON & SILVER TRENTON N.J. N.C.O. SWORD: The hilt is made of brass. The blade is straight and made of steel. The manufacturers name appears on the top of the blade with the inspector's initials and year of manufacture on the opposite side. This blade is marked Emerson and Silver and U.S. 1863 and D.F.M. (Dexter F. Mosman). Emerson & Silver used these markings used 1860-1865. The scabbard made of iron and japanned black with brass throat and drag (drag worn through so tip exposed). It was not designed to be hung on rings but was secured in a frog and suspended by a cross belt worn over the right shoulder. Blade approx. 32'', overall approx. 38''. 250
