SEMI-ANTIQUE N. W. PERSIAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 3' 11'' x 5' 6'': The design of this rug shows that it was a tribal or village weaving because the weaver made the large medallion once complete and then repeating the medallion decided to stop before finishing the whole medallion a second time. They may have felt that the rug was large enough for their needs or they were running out of warp thread and wanted to have enough room to put the borders to finish the rug. Who knows? The bold design is paired with the right colors to make for an attractive rug.
CONDITION: Wear and old moth damage with frayed ends and missing fringes.
