264A | MODERN INDO-PERSIAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 9' 11'' x 10': This rug is very striking due to the open velvety looking black field. The central medallion and the motifs around the edges of the field have a lacy, tracery effect because of the contrast of the white on black. The white ground main border completes the effect. There are four vases of flowers that start at the border in the middle of the sides and ends and come into the field. These give the rug even more visual impact. The fact that this rug is square in size also adds to its interest. CONDITION: There is some slight damage to the rug on one side end. |

286A | MODERN PAKISTANI HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 5' 10'' x 8': This vegetable dyed rug looks like the high quality rugs that are also being produced in Turkey. The open ivory field is surrounded by a broken border consisting of a red ground that undulates around the center of the rug. Vases of flowers and palmettes with long stem flowers break up the border in the corners and centers of the border. The outer ivory border and the narrow red band at the edge complete the picture.
