MODERN INDO-PERSIAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 9' 11'' x 10': This rug is very striking due to the open velvety looking black field. The central medallion and the motifs around the edges of the field have a lacy, tracery effect because of the contrast of the white on black. The white ground main border completes the effect. There are four vases of flowers that start at the border in the middle of the sides and ends and come into the field. These give the rug even more visual impact. The fact that this rug is square in size also adds to its interest. CONDITION: There is some slight damage to the rug on one side end. |
