201 | COLT LIGHTNING LARGE FRAME EXPRESS RIFLE: The most desirable of the Colt Lightning pump action rifles; this large frame example has a 45-85-285 caliber 28'' octagon barrel. Only 6,496 of these rifles were produced, this is serial number 1574. 2 line colt address on top of rapid tapered barrel with last patent date of '87. Nickel plated Schuetzen buttplate on walnut stock. Areas of original case color remain in protected areas, balance of finish mottled between plum brown and grey. Action works fine, clean bore. CONDITION: Loss of nickel plate on butt, minor pitting and age stains. Burchard Galleries does not recommend firing ANY antique weapon regardless of condition. |

The runner has a row running down the center of sprays of flowers that form loosely drawn medallions. The red field serves as a good background for the flower medallions in colors of pale green, pale yellow, rust, black, blues, and white. The main borders black ground does a great job of framing the center of the runner. This would be an attractive, yet sturdy addition to go with your room size Sarouk. 226 | SEMI-ANTIQUE NORTH WEST PERSIAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 3' 3''x 6' 3'': This strikingly designed rug has a black ground field that is covered with rows of flowering trees in colors of rust, aqua and medium blue, peach, and white. The contrast of the design in these colors is one of the things that make this rug so attractive. Another is that the main border has a motif of turtles executed in the same colors as those found in the field of the rug. These turtles have been placed on a white ground that is separated by a geometric design that encapsulates each turtle. The guard borders of ''barber pole'' rust and white and the other small borders with their flower heads and vines are like those seen in Caucasian rugs. This is probably a Kurdish Persian rug, a compilation of the good features of several different types of rugs. CONDITION: There is an old latex patch that is only visible from the back of the rug. Also the ends are frayed and need overcasting. |

The pretty red ground is covered with a profusion of small flower heads executed in colors of two shades of blue, white, rust, yellow-beige, and black for the outlines and stems or vines. There is a central white larger flower head that has four white lines that go out like compass direction pointers, except that these have flowers branching out from them! CONDITION: There is a small spot on the surface of the rug that can probably be removed by a professional cleaner. |
