1 Click for larger picture BERGMAN, Franz Xavier (1861-1936): Austrian bronze orientalist figural lamp. Nicely detailed and vibrant colors. Unusual form of a seated man, in his tent, with pot on the coals and cup in his hand. Signed with the B, impressed Made in Austria. 14'' x 7 1/2'' x 7''.
CONDITION: Note professional repair to spear tip, may be missing a shield.

6 Click for larger picture EARLY CARVED RELIEF PLAQUE OF A YOUNG MAIDEN COMMITTING SUICIDE: Early, perhaps earlier than 19th C. relief carving, possibly of different colored waxes, inset with a gold colored metal necklace and pearl-like beads inset in her hair, inset in circular wooden frame, 5 1/2'' diameter, under glass in an early carved and gilded gesso frame with age appropriate wear and bore holes, 9 1/2'' x 9''. 700

15 Click for larger picture BUGATTI, Rembrandt, (Italian, 1884-1916): Elephant, Bronze, 10.8'' h. x 15'' w. x 4.8'' d., incised signature, stamped Cire Perdue, AA Hebrard and incised (2), circa 1912, 19.5 lbs/8.85 kilograms, fresh from the estate. Illustrated on Page 329 in Bugatti's Repertoire Monographique by Fromanger. We have been made aware that there are only 2 known examples of this casting; the one that appears in the catalog raisonne, and this piece we are offering. Rare and highly prized, Bugatti's animal bronzes have commanded in excess of 2 million dollars at auction. Bugatti battled depression, and as a result took his life at a very young age of 31. He is of the same family as Carlo, a furniture craftsman, and the most famous, Ettore, automotive engineer and design legend. This piece was inherited from several wealthy ladies who were world travelers, to their caretaker over 45 years ago, to his nephew approximately 10 years ago, who had no idea of the importance or value until bringing it to an appraisal fair that a Burchard representative was working. 170000

CONDITION: Needs cleaning, several older abrasions in the left margin.
