CIVIL WAR AMES MODEL 1840 N.C.O. SWORD: Model 1840 Non-commissioned officers sword dated 1864. Brass hilt, 23 3/4'' blade with partial Ames on one side of ricasso, inspector marks US, JH, 1864 verso. Leather scabbard with brass mounts, inspector mark JH on drag tip. Overall 39 1/4'' long.
CONDITION: Areas of age staining to blade, chips to cutting edge, repairs to leather on scabbard.
