1169A | APPROX. 50-75 YEAR OLD PERSIAN HERIZ HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 8' x 11' 4'': This good looking rug has traditional colors and geometric designs found in rugs from the Heriz region of Iran. The central medallion has spandrels hanging from the top and bottom that are outlined in black. The brick red field and the medallion are covered with geometric shaped motifs in color of pale yellow, rose, blue, and are accented by white and black. The corners of the field are composed of quarters of the medallion separated by white from the rest of the field. The main border of the field completes the rug with its use of the same colors and motifs found in the rug on a black ground. CONDITION: There is some fading of this rug and some wear at one end but it's not bad. Approx. 72 lbs. |

The main border of the rug also has the tree pattern but on a pale yellow ground. The colors and the overall composition make it a handsome rug that would go well with many styles of decorating.
