ANTIQUE CAUCASIAN KARABAGH DATED HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUNNER, 3' 1'' x 10' 3'': This striking antique Caucasian rug has an interesting design of diagonal bands of round-bodied botehs, or paisleys with spots of other colors within each one. They rest on a medium blue field and are in colors of pale yellow, red, aqua, beige, and brown. The serrated leaf and wine glass motif of the main border are done in the same colors but on a white ground. Best of all, this rug has an inscription and is dated 1883. This makes this rug a true collector's dream. It would be a good addition to any collection. CONDITION: Wear that is not unusual for a rug of this age. |

ANTIQUE N. W. PERSIAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 3'6'' x 6'4'': This is an interesting collector's rug. The field's main motifs are a row of diamond shaped medallions that have triangle shapes fitted in closely except for the top smaller diamond. The brown-black edges of the field each have a row of flower heads that become small and scattered at the top of the rug. There is also a running dog border on the edge of the field that further accentuates the inner designs. Also there are a few scattered animals to be found. This is a very appealing rug. CONDITION: There is visible wear in the brown-black areas and the ends are slightly uneven. |
