1059A | SEMI-ANTIQUE CHINESE HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 2' 9'' x 6' 11'': This 75-85yrs old rug is an example of what are known as ''Pillar'' rugs whose design would be continuous when wrapped around a column or pillar. The lively golden yellow dragon in this rug flies through the air past small clouds chasing the ''pearl'' that is just out of his reach. The deep blue field is bordered at the bottom of the rug with colorful wavy bands on which rests what may be a palace or a temple. This is a really neat rug especially if you like Chinese rugs. CONDITION: There is some wear and some fraying on the edges, especially at the bottom end. |

The inner and outer border has a red/ black trefoil design, the next small border has stars on a white ground, and the main border has the design element that classifies it as a ''Chi-Chi'' style rug.
