APPROX 75-100 YR OLD PERSIAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 8'7'' x 13': This rug, probably a Lillihan with a Sarouk pattern and colors, is a well-made rug in its use of both those elements. The salmon red field is covered with sprays of various flowers done in shades of blues, rust, and a pinkish beige. The small central medallion, done in the same colors, and the deep blue main border with its blue and white guard borders all come together to complete this lovely rug. CONDITION: The rug has some areas of wear and shading but is still good looking. |

APPROX 15-25 YR OLD PAKISTANI FLAT WEAVE HANDMADE WOOL RUG, 9' x 12': This flat weave rug was made using a variety of techniques including a soumac stitch and weft wrapping. The end result is an attractive rug. The pale lavender-beige field has a loose design of medallions, large leaves, and palmettes that form an open large medallion. The edge of the main field is bordered by halved designs that are like the ones that form the central medallion and they are framed by the lighter colored borders. ANTIQUE PERSIAN SAROUK HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 3'5'' x 4'8'': This lovely rug is a Blue Sarouk, which is that it has a blue ground. Most Sarouk have a red background. The traditional designs consist of vases of flowers at either end of the field with a central medallion composed of sprays of flowers radiating out from a large flower head. The midnight blue of the field is contrasted by the pale yellow and pale peach borders that frame the field. CONDITION: The sides and ends of the rug have been redone and there is some loss but it doesn't detract too much from the rug. |

SEMI-ANTIQUE PERSIAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 3'5'' x 4'8'': This rug is a good-looking Hamadan with a deep salmon pink field that is covered with an archaic simple design consisting of a row of palmettes. The palmettes are linked by vines to each other and to leaves and flowers that radiate out from the center. All the motifs are done in shades of blue, rust, and beige as are the borders of the rug. CONDITION: The sides and ends of this rug have been redone professionally to preserve the rug. |

ANTIQUE PERSIAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 5'3'' x 7'5'': This very finely knotted Persian rug has an intricate overall repeating design executed in three basic colors, blue, brick red, and ivory with some accents of pale pink and beige. The design's small diamond shapes alternating with rosettes or flower heads is bordered by several small borders with alternating color backgrounds. The result is a very attractive rug. CONDITION: There is a line of wear down the center of the rug and a small hole at the edge on one side. Not bad for a rug that is 75 to 100 years old. |
