CHINESE POLYCHROME COVERED GINGER JAR: Floral design in a color palette of blues, lavenders, green and orange on a yellow ground. A foo dog finial tops the lid, with four raised foo dog heads spaced at the shoulders. Fired in a wood kiln on a sand base, this jar may date from the Daoguang reign (1821 - 1850). Overall 14 1/2'' h. x 8 1/4''.
CONDITION: Rubs to body, firing cracks on base do not continue into interior.
