ADAMS, John Clayton (British, 1840-1906): ''Ewhurst Hill, Surrey'', Oil/Canvas, 24'' x 36'', signed lower right, dated 1901, old label affixed verso, encased in a pierce carved and gilded frame 31'' x 42 1/2''. Adams exhibited at the Royal Academy among others his and he painted mostly views in Surrey and the nearby counties. Adams lived at Ewhurst Hill near Guildford, the setting for this painting, from 1873 until his death in 1906.
CONDITION: Frame does have several spots of damage, painting has been relined, several minor scattered spots of inpaint, needs cleaning, some craquelure evident in the lower portions of the left and right corner.
