OLD PAKISTANI-PERSIAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 6'2'' x 9': This rug has a different color palette that is definitely a more modern style combined with a traditional overall design. The black ground of the main field has four large palmettes running down the center of the rug. There are two more palmettes going sideways in the middle of the field. Around and linked to the palmettes are large leaves and vines. All of the design elements are done in golden yellow colors including the wide borders of the rug. This rug would look good in a den or office. Original list price $6500 with purchase receipt price of $3250. CONDITION: Condition is basically good with some slight stains. |

OLD PERSIAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 9'9'' x 13'2'': This fascinating Persian rug is literally covered with vases on the blue field and in the large ivory diamond shaped center medallion and the four ivory corners of the field. The vases are in many shapes and sizes and are in pairs that are either just opposite each other or on opposite sides of the rug. The vases have panels of varying designs with almost every one containing an inscription. A rug like this is not just a floor covering, but would be the source of conversation for years to come. On either side are found smaller versions of the designs. The pastel pinks, greens, yellows, ivory, and beige are all purposely variegated. The resulting effect is one of a silky sheen.
