REMBRANDT VAN RIJN, (Dutch, 1606-1669): ''The Baptism of the Eunuch'', Etching and Drypoint, Depicts a Soldier on Horseback with Feathered Helmet, bow & arrows, and a lance, gazing at a group of three people at water's edge, one praying on one knee while he is ministered to by a bearded man in flowing robes. In the background can be seen a horse drawn carriage, foliage, and in the distance, a hillside with the outline of horses. Image measures 6 3/4'' x 8 1/4'', matted and framed 15 1/2'' x 16 3/4''. Rembrandt's name is etched along bottom right corner: ''Rembrandt/1641'', on laid paper, probably a Basan edition.
CONDITION: Visible foxing, trimmed margins, some light surface abrasions or insect damage with minor surface paper loss, hinged with tape at top margins, sold as is.
