Overall measures 86'' h. x 56 1/2'' x 11 1/4''.
CONDITION: Several panels with cracks, shippers note panel removes from mount for shipping purposes.

1055 Click for larger picture APPROX 20-35 YR OLD PERSIAN NAIN HAND KNOTTED WOOL AND SILK RUG, 10' 6'' X 16' 2 1/2'': This lovely palace sized carpet has a beautifully executed traditional curvilinear design with a small round central medallion in shades of blue resting on a white field that is covered with vines , leaves, and floral motifs. Around the field is a wide band of blue leading into blue grounded corners. The wide white ground of the main border and the small guard borders complete the picture. This rug is very finely knotted and even has silk highlights here and there throughout the rug. This type of rug was highly prized and very expensive in the not too distant past.
CONDITION: There is some surface soil as well as two small tears, 1/2'' & 1'', in the white main border that are repairable.

1067 Click for larger picture THREE PIECE COPPER ENGRAVING LOT: From the 1997 Early American History Auctions catalog: ''1) The Siege of Orleans Illustrated News Broadsheet from the French Religious Wars of the 16th Century Engraving, dated 1563, this illustrates the siege of the City of Orleans, France during the month of January of that year, 15'' x 20''. This news broadside has a keyed index at the bottom referring to people and places that are illustrated in the engraving. The engraving illustrates the Catholic army led by the Duke of Guise besieging the Huguenot City of Orleans. The Duke was assassinated during the siege on February 18, 1563 by Jean Poltrot, a Huguenot. This contemporary engraving has all of the elements of a 16th Century siege; a walled City, a moat, siege cannons'' ; 2) Plan of Cardona Copper Engraving; 17'' x 20 3/4'' 3) City of Namur Copper Engraving, 17'' x 20 3/4''.
CONDITION: Foxing at borders, not affecting the image.

CONDITION: Chips and bubbling to veneer, age split front of case, craquelure and loss of decoration on dial, missing finial, currently running however not guaranteed to continue or keep accurate time. Crank in office.

1087 Click for larger picture SEMI-ANTIQUE PERSIAN GORAVAN / HERIZ HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 10'2'' x 12'10'': This traditionally designed Persian rug has an extremely large central star shaped medallion done in colors of ivory, peach, brown, blue, and black. At either end of the medallion palmettes shaped spandrels are suspended from the medallion. The four corners of the field are outlined by a saw toothed ivory ground band. The corners are like sections of the central medallion. The black ground of the main border ties in with the black used in the main design of the field. The overall look of the rug is very pleasing and will be an attractive addition to any room setting. Condition is good with fading that is even and adds to the overall look. 500
