1114 Click for larger picture APPROX 20-35 YR OLD CHINESE NEEDLEPOINT AUBUSSON HANDMADE WOOL RUG, 9' 9'' x 14' 3'': This tapestry rug was woven in the type of design that was found in the finest, most elegant Salons in Paris in centuries past. The ivory oval center of the rug is outlined with a gold and yellow band that is also used as a border on the edges of the rug. There are tracery patterns of leaves and vines linking sprays of realistically drawn flowers of various types. For a matching smaller rug please see the next lot.
CONDITION: There is some surface soil and stains but they are minimal.

1149 Click for larger picture SEMI-ANTIQUE PERSIAN HERIZ HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 9'10'' x 13'6'': A nice size Heriz rug with a traditional format that includes a large central medallion in red, orange, and deep blue , on a red field. The four corners are white with a red partial medallion radiating in towards the center of the rug. The main border has a design of serrated leaves alternating with single large flower heads on a deep blue ground. This is a lively good looking rug.
CONDITION: There is some color run of red into white.
