1153 | SEMI-ANTIQUE 80-90 YR. OLD PERSIAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 8'2'' x 12'4'': This lovely example of good Persian weaving has a large diamond shaped central medallion within a medallion in ivory, rust-red, and shades of blue on an ivory field. The rust-red and blue corners follow the diamond shape of the central design and are all filled in with designs of leaves and vines around sprays of flowers. The medium blue guard borders and the deep blue and red-rust main border complete this rug. Older rugs have a charm that can only be achieved with age. CONDITION: There are some slight stains, some sun fade, and the rug is dry in some places with some visible breaks. The ends have been professionally refringed. Gently handled this rug will easily last another generation or two. This lot is exclusive through Burchard Galleries and will not be available via Live Auctioneers or Invaluable. |

This design was executed in colors that include red, pistachio green, yellow, dark blue, pink, and white. The field is bounded by a single narrow border.
