1201 Click for larger picture CIVIL WAR ERA CASED ENGRAVED TRANTER REVOLVER: Mid 19th century, 5 3/4'' octagon .44 caliber barrel, 5 shot percussion pistol. Engraved framed, serial number 20720, stamped ''Tranter's Patent'' on frame and loading lever. Double action with pass through spur trigger, action currently working fine. Checkered wood grip, overall 12 1/2''. Cased in original fitted mahogany case with accoutrement to include brass powder flask, bullet mold, cleaning rod, caps, slugs, balls and jelly. Case measures 2 1/2'' h. x 15'' x 7 3/4''. Tranter had a contract with several Southern companies during the Civil War.

Lli Pietta, .36 caliber black powder, 9'' octagon barrel, trigger drops when gun is cocked. Engraved cylinder, serial number 2292, 13 1/4'' overall. Fitted walnut case with all the accoutrement measures 3'' h. x 16 1/2'' x 9 1/4''.
CONDITION: Minor peppering at one side end of barrel.

Slant front secretary opens to door and drawers with carved fronts, pigeon holes with shaped valences, over 4 graduating full length drawers, all on pad feet. Overall measures 87'' h. x 34'' x 18 1/2''.
CONDITION: Wear consistent with age and use.

Overall 1 1/2'' dia, 55.1 grams total including movement.
CONDITION: Confirmed with professional jeweler that case can be buffed back to gold shine. Currently running however not guaranteed to continue or keep accurate time.

OLD PAKISTANI BOKHARA HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 8'8'' x 11'8'': This room size rug has a deep turquoise colored ground that is covered with alternating rows of two ''guls'' - the traditional motifs found on Bokhara rugs. There are multiple (9) small borders and an ''apron'' or additional border at each end. There is a small signature cartouche in one of the aprons.
CONDITION: There are some slight stains, some that show on the fringe but otherwise good.

CONDITION: Daggers not examined and remain in sealed case, sword cane with chips and dings to cane. Please be aware of local laws regarding sword cane.

1217 Click for larger picture 19TH CENTURY PAINT DECORATED SEAMAN'S CHEST: Paint decorated all over, hinged lid with schooner near shore, front identified with James F. Whitten, foliate decoration on sides. We have located a James Whitten, Civil War sailor who served on the CSS Virginia II, however we cannot confirm this as his. Interior with box, lock not working, overall measures 8 1/2'' h. x 20 1/2'' x 11''.
CONDITION: Flaking paint, chips, lock not working, sold as-is.

To include Nest of 4 mixing bowls in ivory, turquoise relish tray with inserts, 2 pair tripod candle holders, pair bulb candle holders, cobalt covered casserole, green ring handle teapot, ivory teapot, yellow pitcher with ice lip, 2 stacking bowls, green mustard (no lid), a green and an ivory divided grill plate, cobalt comport, yellow serving bowl with green lid, 7 nappy bowls (8 1/2'' dia.), 2 nappy bowls (5 1/4'' dia.), turquoise shaker, 3 turquoise saucers, and a bread plate, a turquoise 9'' plate, chartreuse teapot and a modern red vase. 900
1218A Click for larger picture APPROX. 45-65 YR. OLD PERSIAN HERIZ HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 5' x 7'3'': This Heriz is a little bit unusual in that it has an ivory field instead of the more typical rust red, and the main design of alternating central medallions is like a design usually seen in Karajas, but the weave is Heriz like. The field also has many smaller motifs that include palmettes, stylized leaves and flowers and four small red birds found near the four corners of the field. The midnight blue main border has a pattern that is traditional to rugs from Heriz with the addition of more little birds tucked in here and there.
CONDITION: Condition is good for its age, there is a small tear on one side at the very edge of the rug that looks to be an easy repair.

1242 Click for larger picture DAVENPORT, William Slocum, (New York/France, 1868 - 1938): Landscape with Trees at the Water's Edge and City in the Distance, Oil/Canvas, 31.75'' x 25.5'', signed lower left, painted wood frame, 39'' x 32''. Davenport graduated from dental school in 1890, and shortly after went to Paris to practice. It was there he met James Mcneil Whistler, who befriended him and encouraged his artistic career. Information from Lucille Barnes, relative of the artist.
CONDITION: Frame is worn and over painted, painting has several flecks of loss and some minor abrasions, some craquelure, needs cleaning, sold as is.

1243 Click for larger picture APPROX. 40-60 YR. OLD AMERICAN KARASTAN MACHINE MADE WOOL RUG, 8'7'' x 12'2'': This Karastan has a traditional Persian Kerman design and coloring. The ivory center field has a large diamond shaped medallion that is surrounded by small sprays of flowers done in shades of pale blue, pink, and green. The wide ''broken border'' completes the design and fills in the rug. This rug originally probably cost around $2,000! Condition is good. 275

The white ground of the main border accentuates both the good colors and the size of the rug. Condition is good. 350
