APPROX 20-30 YR. OLD SINO-PERSIAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 5'9'' x 8'10'': This lovely rug has a small diamond shaped central medallion with spandrels at either end all done in a blue/black ground. The ivory field is densely covered with sprays of various flowers done in colors that include shades of blue, pink, rose, and dark red. Hiding in the flowers are pairs of birds, one mate on each side of the field. The blue/black main border also has birds tucked in here and there among the sprays of flowers. There is color change in the last border of the rug. CONDITION: There are some slight stains visible but they don't detract too much from the overall appearance. |
