APPROX. 20-30 YR. OLD INDIAN AGRA HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 8' DIAMETER: This hard to find round rug was woven in India with a design whose motifs are found in both fine Persian city rugs and in rugs from Agra, the seat of rug making for many Indian palaces. The larger palmettes are done in a blending of several soft colors including greens, beiges, blues, and reds and are linked to the smaller motifs in the field by vines. All rest on a black ground that give the designs a gem like quality. The red border with its linked palmettes nicely frames the field. Condition is good.
