1263 | APPROX. 20-35 YR. OLD PERSIAN OR SINO-PERSIAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 2'1'' x 4'1'': This rug is an unusual pictorial rug containing star shaped panels with various scenes. There are two panels at the top and bottom of the field and a larger one in the center of the rug. The central star has an ornate pavilion with other buildings in the distance. The other four pictures are of outdoor scenes that include water - a river or lake, trees, and mountains in the four seasons of the year. The rest of the field has a blue ground with typical sprays of flowers and leaves. The red ground main border has a continuous design of various flowers and four small star shaped pictorial panels. This is a pretty and unusual rug that would make a statement in any home. Condition is good. | 125 | |

The contrast between the red, pink, beige, blue, and black colored motifs and the white field makes a dramatic statement. The main borders design is often found on Serab or Seraband rugs. 1276 | SEMI-ANTIQUE PERSIAN KERMAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUNNER, 2'8'' x 14'6'': This Persian Kerman runner has both colors and design that are traditional for this center of weaving. The ivory field has pink, rose, and blue floral medallions and sprays running down the center of the runner and on either side of the medallions. The borders are the same shades of blues and pinks. Kerman runners don't turn up every day so this would be a welcome find for a home with larger matching rugs. CONDITION: Fringes are worn and there is some soiling. |
