The gold trim pieces include the 12'' tureen with figural finial, a 15'' platter, 13 cups, 13 saucers, 32 plates (6 7/8''-9 1/2''), 4 cream pitchers (3-5''), a large covered sugar (4 1/2'' dia.), a small sugar (3 1/2'' tall), coffee pot (9 1/2''), teapot (5''), pierced compote on pedestal (5 3/4'' x 6 3/4''). Sold with this group are 3 dinner plates in pattern 821101, looks like Blue Onion with birds. CONDITION: There is some wear to the gold, the 5'' teapot has a restored spout and tureen appears to have had the finial reapplied. It has an amalgam of various archaic design patterns, including a Herati design, which have been put together to create an interesting and different combination. The deep salmon colored field makes a good background for the blues, reds, white, and black colored motifs that cover it. The white ground main border also has a striking design of a black continuous angled vine that has large flower heads that are all ''growing'' in the same direction. CONDITION: There is some color run, the pile is evenly low, the sides have been re-done and there are some small old repairs. Also there is a dramatic color change at one end which is how the rug was made originally. |
