1201 Click for larger picture FRENCH CARVED WHITE MARBLE CLOCK SET: Carved white marble case with medallion center and scroll accents. Removable brass accent at center, on 4 gilt metal feet. Porcelain dial with open escapement, applied gilt metal Roman numerals, dial marked Mortier A Gand. Time and strike movement marked E.V., overall measures 14'' h. x 26'' x 7 3/4''. Sold with matching compote garniture set, 11 1/2'' h. x 9''.
CONDITION: Clock with minor chips, damage to second brass accent trim, hands missing front cap and cotter pin but currently moving in time. Currently running however not guaranteed to continue. Minor chips to garniture, pendulum in office.

Gilt metal scabbard with eagle in medallion center mount. Overall measures 40'' long.
CONDITION: Age stains to blade, discoloration top of crossguard, minor dings and missing spots of gilt to scabbard.

1217 Click for larger picture VICTORIAN INLAID PRESENTATION LAP DESK: Top and banded front inlaid with an assortment of woods, abalone and bone. Top with center presentation ''Presented to Joseph Green by the employees of Messrs P. Joynson & Co. as a token of esteem, Nov. 16th, 1887''. Inside with embossed leather writing surface, compartments and ink bottles. Overall measures 7'' h. x 16 1/2'' x 11 1/2''. Joseph Green, a prominent businessman in Manchester England, managed Messrs P. Joynson, Cotton Mills in the late 19th / early 20th century and at the onset of WW1 was relocated to Columbia to establish textile trade in Latin America. Family lore has it that he then became involved in the emerald trade and immediately upon his death his widow opened the desk only to find it devoid of any of the coveted Columbian jewels. Included in the ephemera are pictures of Joseph Green hunting and on horseback along with a bit of history regarding the desk itself.
CONDITION: In need of restoration and conservation. Sold as-is.

1223 Click for larger picture LEON CAPEL DESIGNER BELGIAN MACHINE WOVEN WOOL RUG, 8'3'' x 11'6'': This rug has a beautiful garden and vase design done in lovely colors. There is a round central medallion with a compass point motif in its center. Around the medallion and over the whole field is a profusion of flowers, leaves, and vines. In the corners of the field are vases and more vases are found coming from the broken borders into the field. Condition is good. 400

Nice early example of Adams signature before he entered politics. Framed and matted with photocopy of warrant and steel engraving in presentation and sold with a Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA dated April 2012. Frame measures 35 3/4'' x 19 3/4''.
