This scene depicts a copy of the 18th C. scene from Campi Phlegraei by Sir William Hamilton and Pietro Fabris, published in three parts (Parts I & II and a Supplement) in 1776 and 1779. Hamilton was a diplomat and antiquarian, and an amateur geologist and volcanologist.
CONDITION: Laid down on wove paper, visible creases, sold as is.
