1020 Click for larger picture EXCEPTIONAL 19TH CENTURY PAINTING OF THE BUBBLE BLOWERS: This finely executed Oil on Canvas is being attributed to Anton Romako and is nearly identical to a painting entitled ''The Bubble Blowers'', a known, signed work created by Romako in 1868. This most interesting Oil/Canvas has no visible signature and is encased in a period carved and gilded frame with wear. It measures 21 3/4'' x 29'', 31'' x 38'' with frame. According to the book ''The Art of the Vienna Galleries'' by David C. Preyer, 1891, Anton Romako is described as a genre painter who is particularly successful with Viennese children types and Italian figures and goes on to reference his work ''The Bubble Blowers'' as a ''Symphony in delicate whites''. Please enjoy.
CONDITION: Professionally restored in 2011, relined, scattered craquelure, several areas of inpaint visible by blacklight. Guarantee of any kind is neither expressed nor implied.

OLD PAKISTANI-PERSIAN HAND KNOTTED SILK?, WOOL, AND COTTON RUG, 6'2'' x 9': This attractive rug has an intricate, well executed design that consists of a white centered pale rust red medallion with spandrels dangling from each end all resting in a midnight blue/black field. There is an inner pale ivory and beige border that has red rust palmettes that have the same shape as the spandrels. Around the medallion and spandrels are found sprays of flowers and leaves that cover the rest of the field. The main border has a rust red ground and the guard borders have ivory grounds. There is an extra border that has a pile design over a flat ground. This denotes extra care was taken in the weaving of this rug.
CONDITION: There are some stains visible but not detracting too much from the overall look.

In between the flower heads are various other motifs, some geometric in shape and some more curvilinear. The large red main border along with the turquoise, red, and white guard borders, make an interesting contrast to the field.

CONDITION: Nikon F3 meter appears to work. Camera appears clean, with a functional and snappy shutter. MD-4 motordrive functions. All lenses contain small particles of dust, however no fungus is present. Nikkor 50mm AF lens exhibits a very slight amount of haze that does not affect picture quality, and could use a CLA. All equipment is being sold AS-IS, with no guarantee of future functionality. Please note the Autofocus function of the AF Nikkor lenses have been tested, and do work on other Nikon bodies equipped with AF, however the included F3 body is manual focus only.
