ANTIQUE PERSIAN KAZVIN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 10'3'' x 21'2'': This palatial sized Persian carpet has an open silky looking blue field that has a large central medallion in an oblong shape. There are spandrels hanging from either end. The medallion has a red ground filled with smaller flower, leaf, and vine motifs and is outlined by several narrow borders in other colors. The medallion's shape is echoed in the ins and outs of the blue field and the outlining row of flower forms on it. It also flows into the white inner border of the rug. The main outer borders are ''broken'' in the sense that there are large palmettes and cartouche like medallions that overlap all the borders.
CONDITION: This is a beautiful rug unfortunately marred by the presence of several stains that show up more on the white areas of the rug, small section of color bleed, 1'' tear midway down side of rug. Needs cleaning. Shippers please note this carpet weighs 207 lbs.
