1008 Click for larger picture LE FAGUAYS, Pierre (French, 1892-1962): Art Deco Ball Dancer, Patinated Bronze, 12'' h. overall, figure approx. 8.5'' x 11'' x 8'', affixed to a polished marble base with incised signature to top. As a sculptor, Le Faguays has created monuments, ceramics, figural lamps and lithe female forms, all inspired by Tanagra, Athens, a city in Greece which is known for its Terra Cotta.
CONDITION: Minor wear to patina and several small specks to the base, sold as is.

Even though he was raised by French parents and inspired by such French artists as Toulouse-Loutrec and Matisse, Maimon was educated at Israel's most prestigious academy for the arts, Avni Institute of Fine Art. In 1980, Maimon turned his focus to teaching and started instructing at the School of Visual Arts and the Kaye Art Academy in Beer-Sheeba. 2700

Signed Carlo Marchiori and dated 1992, center panel 51 1/2'' h. x 16''. Italian born, Carlo Marchiori studied classic art and academic design in Padua and Venice. At the age of eighteen, he left Italy to live in Canada where he worked as illustrator and film animator for C.B.C. Television and the National Film Board of Canada. In 1967 he was nominated for an Academy Award for an animated short but eventually abandoned filmmaking and advertising for mural paintings.

Born in Russia and the son of an admiral of the Imperial Fleet, Erte was inspired by Persian miniatures which displayed exotic and brightly colored patterns and designs. During his career he created over 240 covers for the magazine ''Harper's Bazaar''. His work includes fashion, jewelry, graphic arts, costume and set design for film, theatre and opera as well as interior decor.

Portrait of a Woman, Oil/Canvas. A household name in the 1920's, Binder came to fame with his work ''The Old Talmudist''. This is one of the few pieces that was in the permanent collection of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. As a devout Jewish man, many of Binder's work consisted of murals of Rabbi's and other higher up members of the Hebrew community.

1370 Click for larger picture ROUAULT, George, (French, 1871-1958): Portrait of a Woman, Aquatint/Etching, size with margins 25.5'' x 19.75'', signed lower right, signed in the plate lower left and dated '23. Impression size is 22'' x 17''. Born into a poor family, Rouault became a glass maker at age 14. Some believe that this experience influenced his painting style with dark contours and almost glowing colors. His pieces of clowns and prostitutes were seen to be a moral and social criticism. His pieces became more religious in nature. Before his death he destroyed over 300 pieces of art that he started but believed he would not be able to finish.
