LEVER, Hayley, (Australian/American, 1876-1958): New England Street Scene, Oil on Canvas, 20'' x 24'', signed lower left, gilded frame, 23'' x 27''. Lever was born and raised in Australia and studied in Europe, but eventually settled on the East Coast of America. He was influenced by the Impressionists, notably Van Gogh. In fact, he did a series of paintings, ''Van Gogh's Hospital, Holland'', to express the influence he felt from Van Gogh. Provenance: Estate Collection of Christian Buchheit.
