REEDY, Leonard, (American, 1899-1956): Four-piece estate lot of western Watercolor art. 1) ''The Hanging'', Cowboys Surrounding a Cattle Rustler about to be Hanged, Watercolor, sight size 8'' x 11'', signed lower right, framed, 15'' x 18''. 2) Indian War Party, Watercolor, sight size 8'' x 11'', signed lower right, framed, 15.25'' x 18.25''. 3) Cowboy Roping Longhorn Steer, sight size 6.75'' x 9.75'', signed lower left, framed, 15'' x 18''. 4) Horses Tied to Hitching Post Outside Saloon, Watercolor, sight size 7.75'' x 11'', signed lower right, framed, 15.25'' x 18.25''. Reedy developed an aptitude for drawing at a young age and attempting to reproduce the style and subject matter of Remington, he filled the margins of his school books with drawings. Reedy was at home on the Great Plains, the desert country, mountains, and mining and timber camps. He worked as a ranch hand, roamed with the Indians and over time, gained a certain knowledge of western life that he went on to portray.
