ROUSSEL, Ker-Xavier, (French, 1867-1944): Pastoral Scene, Pastel, 12'' x 18'', signed lower right, early label affixed verso, Berville paper, blind stamp lower left, framed, 18'' x 25''. Roussel was associated with the group of Post-Impressionist, avant garde artists called Les Nabis (The Prophets in Hebrew and Arabic). Most of them, including Roussel, studied at the Acadamie Julian in the late 1880s. He is best known for his paintings of French landscapes.
