WHITEHEAD, Frederick, (British, 1853-1938): ''Lands End'', Oil on Canvas 9'' x 12'', signed lower right, titled and dated 1925, metal frame 9.25'' x 12.25''. Exhibited at the Spiva Art Center, 1982. Frederick attended the Leamington School of Art and the Academie Julian in the Saint-Denis district of Paris for three years under Jules Joseph Lefebvre and Gustave Boulanger. Whitehead seems to be best known for his paintings of the Dorset countryside. He was a true lover of the English countryside who lived alongside nature in order to observe and immortalize it for future generations.
