HEUZE, Edmund, (French, 1883-1967): 2 Paintings to include 1) ''Danseuse'', Watercolor, 12'' x 8'', signed lower left, titled verso, ''Loi Fuller Music Hall, 1920'', framed, 16.25'' x 12.5''; 2) ''Portrait of a Military Officer'', Watercolor, 12'' x 9'', signed lower right, framed 16.5'' x 13.5''. Heuze was born in Paris but spent most of his life in Montmartre. While studying art, he also danced at the Moulin Rouge to support himself. After WWI he worked as liaison between collectors and artists, such as Picasso, Vlaminck and Valadon, and was eventually appointed artistic director of the galerie Sagot in rue Lafitte. Heuze is well-known for his pastels, watercolors and lithographs. Provenance: Estate of Yves Georges Prade.
