ANTIQUE BOKHARA ENSI HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 4'1'' x 5'4'': A true antique Bokhara Ensi or door surround/cover, examples like this are found in major museum rug collections including a very similar one in the Berlin Museum's holdings. The asymmetrical design has a top that looks like the top of a prayer rug's niche. The main portion of the rug is divided into panels with various motifs done in colors of red, blue, black, white, green, and rust red. Three sides of the rug are banded by a double ram's horn repeating design in black and white and there is a large apron or extra border at the bottom of the rug.
