GIACOMETTI, Alberto, (Swiss, 1901-66): ''Studio II'' 1954, Lithograph, 19.75'' x 25.75'' with margins, pencil signed lower right, numbered 8/30 lower left, on Arches wove paper, watermark in lower mid margin, deckled edges on both sides, unframed. Alberto is the son of Giovanni Giacometti, an impressionist painter. As a youth, his family members were the subjects of his works. He studied in Geneva, Italy and ended his formal studies in Paris as a student of Rodin. Late nights, even after his marriage, he often frequented cafes where prostitutes became his models.
CONDITION: Several minor handling creases, some staining in margins, several scattered pencil marks from framing, tape remnants verso, sold as is.
