APPROX. 20-40 YR OLD PERSIAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL ''VASE'' CARPET, 9'5'' x 13'1'': This interesting rug has vases with Kufic or ''false writing'' in them and birds of improbable type and colors. The large vases of various shapes cover most of the field. The central medallion has a medallion within a medallion. Spandrels extend from either end of the medallion to link with half medallions at the edges of the field. The rest of the field is filled with small red and white flowers. An ivory ground border completes the rug. Condition is good.
