FURLOW, Malcolm, (American, 20th C): ''American Biker'', Acrylic/Canvas, 40'' x 50'', signed lower right, titled and signed verso, numbered 1434, unframed. Furlow may have been discouraged as an artist by his college art professor who disapproved of his style - so Furlow left college to become a rock and roll musician playing back up for groups, such as the Beach Boys, for 18 years. He learned to appreciate strong colors as a one-time designer of movie sets for Disney. Eventually he returned to his love of painting and as an artist and has sold out over 50 one-man shows. His work is held in public and private collections around the world. He is recognized by many as a ''Renaissance Man'' and a ''living legend'', particularly with regards to painting the American Southwest.
