ALTMAN, Harold, (American, 1924-2003): 4 Piece Print lot to Include: 1) Figure Emerging form a Gathering at an Outdoor Cafe, Lithograph, 5 1/8'' x 6.75'', pencil signed lower right, framed, 10.5'' x 12'', signed in the plate and dated 1957, an early work; 2) Luxemborg 1980, Etching, sight size 9.25'' x 6.5'', pencil signed lower right, titled in lower margin and numbered 70/200, framed, 18'' x14'', Merrill Chase Galleries Label affixed verso; 3) ''Bench 2'', Lithograph, 26.5'' x 19.5'', pencil signed lower right, titled in margin and numbered 48/185, enclosed in plastic, unframed; 4) ''Central Park South'', Lithograph, 30'' x 21.5'', pencil signed lower right, titled in margin and marked artist's proof lower left, encased in plastic with cardboard backing, unframed. Altman was a painter, teacher and etcher who spent 4 months each year in Paris where his lithographs were printed at Atelier Desjoberts. He is represented in almost every significant collection in the world as well as in numerous museums and galleries.
CONDITION: 3) ''Bench 2'' exhibits uneven toning mostly in upper third of print with a circular spot likely from a sticker preventing even light and discoloring the print. 4) ''Central Park South'', lower corners are bent, minor soiling in margins, sold as is.
