1067 Click for larger picture MULHOLLAND, S. A., (1839-1910): Boats and Figures on the Shore, Oil/Canvas, 24'' x 42'', signed lower right S. A. Mulholland London, original gilded gesso frame with wear, 38'' x 56 1/2''. As a young man, Saint Clair Augustine Mulholland painted scenes on window shades, which was a common practice at the time. He was in the Civil War and at the Battle of Chancellorsville in 1863, he led his regiment and distinguished himself by saving the guns of the 5th Maine Battery that had been abandoned to the enemy and received a Medal of Honor. After the war he went to London and Paris to study art. Many of his pieces - mostly watercolors or oils - are listed as Samuel or Sydney Mulholland, a ''British artist''.

CONDITION: Chips and loss of paint, right seated figures head is loose and may come off.

1256 Click for larger picture DAMROW, Charles, (American, 1916-1989): Surreal Scene with Blond Beauty, Hound and Tiger, Oil/Board, 24'' x 36'', signed lower right, framed, 31'' x 43''. Damrow was the youngest of 15 children and was a self-taught artist. He ran away at the age of 13 and went west - he loved horses buffalo, Indian culture and the ''wild west''.
CONDITION: Several minor abrasions in upper margin with minimal paint loss, sold as is.

1439 Click for larger picture REEDY, Leonard, (American, 1899-1956): Horses Tied to Hitching Post Outside Saloon, Watercolor, sight size 7.75'' x 11'', signed lower right, framed, 15.25'' x 18.25''. Reedy developed an aptitude for drawing at a young age and attempting to reproduce the style and subject matter of Remington, he filled the margins of his school books with drawings. Reedy was at home on the Great Plains, the desert country, mountains, and mining and timber camps. He worked as a ranch hand, roamed with the Indians and over time, gained a certain knowledge of western life that he went on to portray. Est. $300/500**
