SEMI-ANTIQUE PERSIAN KASHAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 5' X 7': This very finely woven rug shows a real artistry in the use of colors with a well-drawn design. The dark blue oval central medallion has spandrels at each end and palmettes on each side. The medallion really stands out on the red field because of the white and yellow outlining which is also used to define the corners of the field. The rest of the field is covered with sprays of flowers linked to leaves, palmettes, and larger single flowers by sinuous vines. The many shades of blue borders do a beautiful job of completing this lovely rug. This rug was given an appraised value of $12,000 in the 1990's.
CONDITION: This rug is in very good condition.
