APPROX 35-55 YR OLD PERSIAN KASHAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 4'7''X 7'1'': This good-looking Kashan rug is finely knotted with a beautiful design and well-chosen colors. Also, it has signature cartouches at each end signifying the maker Vehaden? and the point of origin, Kashan, Persia (Iran). The large central medallion has a red outer area around a white and pale blue center. The red, white, and blue corners of the field are like quarters of the central medallion. The field is covered with mostly individual flowers, some small sprays, some linked by vines. These motifs really stand out on the deep blue field. A wide red ground main border is flanked by pale blue and white guard borders. This rug was appraised at $10,500 several years ago!
CONDITION: This rug is in very good condition.
