ANTIQUE TURKOMAN (FROM TURKESTAN) BAG-FACE OF HAND KNOTTED WOOL, 9.5'' X 4': This bag-face has only one row of ''guls'' in its narrow field with two half rows of other pattern ''guls'' or stars at the top and bottom of the field. By its shape I would guess that this bag was made to hold a rifle. The back and sides of the bag are gone as well as parts of the sides and ends of the bag face. Fragments like this are often desired by collectors who look for a different group of ''gul'' decorations from the different Turkoman tribes.
CONDITION: It is very worn.
