A wide white border with scrolling designs in the center and a green outer border completes the design.
CONDITION: There are some visible stains.

1159 Click for larger picture APPROX 20-40 YR OLD PERSIAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 2' X 4'3'': This lovely rug has a ''Tree of Life'' design that consists of a very small tree trunk at one end from which multiple branches with sprays of flowers bloom over the dark blue field. Each spray is a cluster of just one color of flower, pale blue, pink, beige, or red. The main border has small flowering trees on a red field that completes the design of the rug.
CONDITION: Condition is good with some surface soil.

1174 Click for larger picture APPROX 15-30 YR OLD TURKISH HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUNNER, 2'6'' X 7'11'': This pretty runner has a field color that is variegated with shades from salmon to a soft rose red. Pale gold, pale blue and grey/black are the colors of the palmettes, vases, and sprays of flowers that make up the design motifs that both run down the center of the field and fill in the sides as well. The pale gold large main border completes the runner.
CONDITION: This rug is in good condition.

Williams'', original painted frame, 23.15''x 27.5''. Williams was born in New York where he studied art at the Brooklyn Museum Art School. Although he moved to Denmark, when he returned briefly to the U.S. he produced a bod of work reflecting his experiences of being an African American living in the South.
CONDITION: Scattered craquelure, fleck of paint loss in upper margin, fleck of paint loss in lower mid margin, sold as is.

The colors of the medallions alternate and include red, white, green, orange, blue, and tan. The white ground center border makes the field stand out.
CONDITION: There are some slight stains and one corner needs attention.

The field is covered, but in a more open way, with a tracery design of vines linking delicate flowers and leaves. White guard borders and a blue main border completes the rug.
