1207 Click for larger picture SEMI-ANTIQUE PERSIAN HAND KNOTTED SILK RUG, 4'5'' X 6': This rug has a beautiful ''Tree of Life'' design executed in silk and gold thread. The gold ground is a flat pile weave and all the design elements are raised or piled areas. The central tree comes from a trunk at one end. The branches curve up the field laden with beautiful flowers of many types and colors and birds perched here and there. At the base, there is also a peacock and a stork? standing on either side of the tree trunk and the vases of flowers that are on each side. In the border are panels with animals, birds, houses, and pastoral scenes alternating with more flowers.
CONDITION: There is some dryness at one end, some color change and sides need attention but this is still a collector's piece.

1215 Click for larger picture SEMI-ANTIQUE PERSIAN HAMADAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 3'3'' X 5'1'': This cheerful village rug has a salmon pink field with a central small flower head medallion in medium blue, rust, and white. There are palmettes on each side instead of the ends and the whole of the medallion is outlined in dark blue. The rest of the field is covered with swags and sprays of leaves and flowers done in the same colors as those in the medallion. A dark blue main border with a white guard border on each side completes the rug.
CONDITION: Condition is good for its age with some visible wear, some color fade. Sides were professionally redone by hand a while back.

1236 Click for larger picture APPROX 20-40 YR OLD INDO-PERSIAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG,2'6'' X 4'7'': This rug has a traditional Sarouk pattern and colors although it was woven in India. The salmon pink ground has palmettes that form a central pattern with smaller flowers and leaves filling in the rest of the field. The dark blue accents in the motifs and the dark blue main border make the designs stand out.
CONDITION: There is some fade and wear visible.

The rest of the field is covered with small flowers, so many it's like a ''Mille Fiore'' or thousand flowers design. The main border has the same red color as the central medallion.
CONDITION: There are some slight stains, loss at ends and sides need work.
