APPROX 25-50 YR OLD KARASTAN KERMAN MACHINE MADE WOOL RUGS, 4'3'' X 6' AND 5'9'' X 9': These two pretty carpets are from Karastan's 700 Series. Inspired by prized museum pieces and antiques, the 700 Series Collection of rugs is recreated from Persian, Turkoman, and other handwoven Orientals while maintaining authenticity to the finest detail. Each rug is Axmjnster woven through-the-back of the finest imported skein-dyed and lustre washed worsted yarns. Historically, the Axminlster loom and weaving technique date back to England in the 1800's. 1) 4'3''x6' Karastan Panel Kirman #717 Area Rug, has an overall pattern of rows of diamond shaped panels. 2) 5'9'' x 9' Original Karastan Medallion Kirman #718 Carpet features a curvilinear medallion design upon a field embellished with arabesques and floral motifs. Patterned after a nineteenth-century Kirman rug, it makes use of borders to showcase a spectrum of colors such as indigo blue, brick reds, tobacco golds, browns and olives with a smattering of soft aqua, coral and burgundy. Each color is specially dyed for a timeworn striated effect that recreates the antique beauty of the original. Woven in the USA of luxuriously soft premium worsted New Zealand wool.
