BIRGE FULLER OGEE CLOCK AS FOUND: Provenance indicates this clock was bought by Nancy Thompson Lucas, daughter of Joseph Thomason in 1840 and left to Smith Lucas in 1860 when he was very small. It was kept for him by his oldest sister, Mary Elizabeth and her husband Jerry Hauer who owned Stamping Ground Hotel. Jerry Hauer came home drunk one night and shot the gold spread eagle off the top. The clock descended to Emanuel Easley and them to Professor John Easley who's estate consigned this clock.
